SUPPORT KINGSTON'S FAMILY

Help Keep Maile & Zuma in Their Home—A Place Where Kingston Still Lives

For six years, Maile’s entire world revolved around caring for Kingston—not just as his mother, but as his full-time caregiver through the IHSS program. She fought for his treatments, managed his therapies, and ensured he had the best possible quality of life. But when Kingston passed in July, that role—the only job she’s known for years—disappeared overnight.

Losing a child is already an unbearable weight. But grief doesn’t pause the bills. The rent didn’t stop when her world did. For the past seven months, Maile has been fighting to find her footing in a world she never wanted—a world without Kingston. Despite months of interviews and searching for work that makes sense after everything she’s been through, she hasn’t been able to pay rent since December. And now, with an eviction process already in motion, the urgency is real.

This isn’t just a house. This is where Kingston still makes his presence known. In every flickering light, in every unexplained thud, in the small moments that remind Maile and Zuma that love doesn’t end just because a body is gone. For Zuma, this home is everything—every memory she has of her brother lives within these walls. To lose this space now, while they are still trying to find their way through unimaginable grief, would be devastating.

Maile is set to return to work in March—not because she’s landed her dream job or because she’s “ready” to reenter the workforce, but because she has no choice. Because the reality of grief is cruel. Because survival doesn’t wait. She should be in a place of healing, not scrambling to avoid homelessness while carrying the unbearable weight of losing her son.

We need to raise nearly $15,000 to cover back rent and prevent eviction so Maile and Zuma can have the stability they desperately need. If you’ve followed Kingston’s story, you know how much love and light he brought into this world. You also know Maile gave up everything to fight for him.

Now, we are asking for help so she can continue that fight—for her, for Zuma, and for the life Kingston would want them to have. Any amount is a blessing. Your support means everything. ❤️
